Hamburg / Bremerhaven (dpa) - The Hamburg museum ship "Cap San Diego" sets out for Bremerhaven on Sunday afternoon (4 p.m.).

There the ship, which is considered to be one of the largest still seaworthy museum ships in the world, is to be made fit again for more than three weeks.

According to the managing director Ann-Kathrin Cornelius, there are around 200 shipyard points on the plan for the renewal of the class - i.e. for the ship's Tüv that is due every five years.

In the shipyard, not only the tanks should be derusted and preserved.

The "white swan" should also be freed from dirt and shells and given a new coat of paint.

The arrival in Bremerhaven is expected on Monday morning around 7:00 a.m.

According to the information, it goes directly from the Kaiserschleuse to Dock 5 of the “Bredo Dry Docks”.

The night return to Hamburg is planned for April 8th.
