Hoßkirch (dpa) - In the middle of his living room, a man was startled by an extraordinary accident: a tractor with a slurry tanker had strayed from the street, broke through the house wall and came to a standstill with the hood in the room, as a police spokesman said.

The 40-year-old resident was only lucky enough to be uninjured in the accident in the south of Baden-Württemberg on Thursday evening.

The fire brigade and technical aid organization had to support the house in the community of Hoßkirch.

According to the police, property damage of around 220,000 euros was caused to the building.

Why the 29-year-old tractor driver had strayed off the road with his vehicle was initially unclear.

He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
