As the interior department announced on Friday, the number fell by 3813 compared to the previous year to a total of 20,247 .
The number of casualties fell by 720 to 3,145. The number of people killed in traffic accidents, on the other hand, rose from 8 in 2019 to 14 in 2020. According to the interior department, there is no traffic police declaration for the development.
Accordingly, it is a matter of tragic accidents.
According to initial findings, there were also far fewer crashes on Lower Saxony's streets in 2020 than in the previous year.
The number of traffic accidents recorded by the police has been “significantly reduced”, said the Ministry of the Interior in Hanover at the end of January on request.
