Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The Foundation for the Reconstruction of the Church has presented the concept for the planned exhibition in the tower under the working title “Faith, Power and the Military: The Potsdam Garrison Church”.
In seven subject areas, the development of the garrison church from the military church to a gathering place of anti-democratic forces in the Weimar Republic, the importance under National Socialism up to the demolition of the war-damaged tower in the GDR era, explained curator Maria Schultz on Friday in the construction site of the tower .
“It's about the question: How did it come about, what followed from it and what does that mean for us?” Schultz explained the core of the concept.
The aim of the planned permanent exhibition and the educational work, especially with young people, is to create a “democratic, human rights and peace-oriented learning and education location” in the rebuilt church tower.
