According to the Ministry of Health of Cambodia, the first deceased from new coronary pneumonia in Cambodia was a 50-year-old Cambodian male who was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia on February 27 and received treatment at the Changsha Hospital in Phnom Penh.

His condition deteriorated on March 5 and he was urgently transferred to the intensive care unit of the Cambodia-Sudan Friendship Hospital.

Tomography images showed that the left and right lungs of the deceased were severely affected. During the rescue, the deceased suffered severe hypoxia. The doctor used a ventilator to inject oxygen into the patient’s lungs, but the rescue failed. He died in a Russian hospital on the morning of March 11.

In view of the severe and complex situation of the current epidemic in Cambodia, the Cambodian Ministry of Health once again called on the public to be vigilant and not to take the prevention and control of the epidemic lightly, reduce unnecessary outings, and prevent cross-infection.

It is worth mentioning that since the surge in confirmed cases for several consecutive days, Sihanoukville Province reported no new confirmed cases on the 12th, and 12 new cured cases were reported.

The area began to implement personnel control on the 4th of this month, except for trucks and rescue vehicles, temporarily banning personnel and other vehicles from entering and exiting to prevent the further spread of the epidemic.

As of the morning of March 12, a total of 1,225 cases have been confirmed in Cambodia, a total of 619 cases have been cured, and a total of 1 case has died.

A total of 712 cases of the "2.20" community transmission incident were confirmed and 131 cases were cured.
