Hanover (dpa / lni) - In two attacks in Hanover, a woman was seriously injured and a student was slightly injured.

A 41-year-old stabbed a 40-year-old woman with a knife on Welfenplatz and seriously injured her.

She fled to a kindergarten.

The police had no evidence that the man and the injured person knew each other.

He looked confused and was arrested without resistance.

The police are investigating dangerous bodily harm, it said in a statement.

An expert examined the man and confirmed a chronic, mental illness.

The 41-year-old was taken to a clinic in Langenhagen.

In a student dormitory in Garbsen, a 27-year-old was attacked with a knife by a roommate.

The two men were taken to hospitals.

According to the police's initial findings, the attacker had previously hit his mother in the face with his fist.

The 57-year-old wanted to check on him because his health was said to be in poor health.

The son had apparently cut himself previously and was chasing his mother.

When a roommate opened his door, the attacker stabbed him in the shoulder.

During the arrest, the man resisted and also slapped a police officer in the face.

Investigations were initiated, among other things, for dangerous bodily harm and assault on police officers.
