Among them, the minimum words used in student textbooks should not be less than "small 5 characters"; while teaching multimedia should not show perceptible flicker, and meet the blue light protection requirements.

  Affected by multiple factors, the visual health of adolescents is deteriorating.

In 2020, a survey conducted by the Ministry of Education of some students in nine provinces showed that compared with the end of 2019, the myopia rate of students increased by 11.7% in the past six months. Among them, the myopia rate of primary school students increased by 15.2%, junior high school students increased by 8.2%, high school students An increase of 3.8%.

The reporter learned from the State Administration of Market Supervision that the "Hygiene Requirements for the Prevention and Control of Myopia in School Supplies for Children and Adolescents" will be formally implemented on March 1, 2022.

And this new standard has been determined as a mandatory national standard.

  The reporter noted that the new standard will include textbooks, teaching supplementary materials, learning magazines, schoolwork books, examination papers, learning newspapers, learning materials for preschool children, as well as general classroom lighting, reading and writing desk lamps, and reading materials related to the prevention and control of myopia. Teaching multimedia and other school supplies for children and adolescents are included in the management.

Whether it is enterprises, primary and secondary schools, secondary vocational schools, kindergartens, or off-campus training institutions and other production, production, operation or provision of school supplies for children and adolescents, the new standards must be observed.

  For example, according to the new standard, textbooks used by students of different grades have different requirements for font size and font.

For example, the characters used in textbooks for the first and second grades of elementary school should be no less than "No. 3 characters", and the Chinese characters are mainly in italics.

The characters used in the third and fourth grades of elementary school should not be less than "No. 4". The Chinese characters are mainly in Kaiti and Songti, and gradually transition from Kaiti to Songti.

The characters used in grades five to ninth and high schools should be no less than "small 4", and the Chinese characters are mainly Song style.

The font size of the reading materials for preschool children should not be less than "No. 3 font", and the font should be italics.

  For the supplementary words used in the table of contents and notes in the textbook, the words used in the main text can be reduced appropriately, but the minimum words used in the elementary school stage should not be less than "No. 5".

The minimum characters used in junior and senior high schools should not be less than "small 5 characters".

  The new standard also provides for "differences" in the line spacing between each line of text in textbooks.

Among them, for the first and second grades of elementary school, the line space should not be less than 5 mm; the third and fourth grades of elementary school should not be less than 4 mm; for the other grades, it should not be less than 3 mm.

  In addition, the new standard also requires that the pattern and text printing of the schoolwork books should be clear and complete, and there should be no obvious stains.

The learning newspaper should have uniform ink color, consistent depth, and clear imprints. There should be no paste words that affect recognition, and there should be no obvious watermarks.

  For the multimedia that is often used in teaching today, the new standard proposes that teaching multimedia should not show perceptible flicker, meet the blue light protection requirements, and the screen brightness should not be too large during use.
