Berlin (dpa) - Hertha sports director Arne Friedrich does not want to be distracted in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga by the ongoing speculation about an obligation of Fredi Bobic as a manager.

“It doesn't affect me at all.

I have two tasks as of today, we want to stay in the league.

We work on that every day.

The other is to set the course for Hertha BSC, ”said the former national player on Thursday at the digital press conference of the Berlin Bundesliga club before the game at Borussia Dortmund (Saturday / 6.30 p.m. / Sky).

Bobic is being traded as the successor to sports director Michael Preetz, whose duties Friedrich should at least carry out until the end of the season.

On Wednesday, Bobic's current employer, Eintracht Frankfurt, decided at a board meeting that the 49-year-old would only be allowed to leave Hessen before his contract, which was dated until 2023, expired against payment of a transfer fee.

Up to five million euros are under discussion.

Whether Hertha BSC would raise this rumored amount is questionable.

“It's not my job to think about such issues.

We have a board that advises who will become CEO of Sport and I am informed about it.

I will continue my work in exactly the same way, ”said Friedrich to Personnel Bobic.

The focus must be on the current sporting challenge.

“I don't read so much newspapers that I always allow myself to be influenced by the latest rumors.

We have a difficult task ahead of us, ”said the 41-year-old.
