Mainz (dpa / lrs) - Shortly before the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate, the SPD with Prime Minister Malu Dreyer is still ahead of the challenger Christian Baldauf's CDU.

In the survey by the research group Elections for ZDF published on Thursday evening, the SPD came to 33 percent, the CDU to 29 percent.

This is unchanged compared to the ZDF “Politbarometer” last week.

In third place are the Greens, who, however, lost one percentage point in a weekly comparison and now have an intention to vote by 10 percent of those surveyed.

Behind is the AfD with an unchanged 9 percent.

6.5 percent expressed their intention to vote for the FDP - that is 0.5 percentage points less than a week ago.

With a poll result of 5 percent, the free voters have a chance of entering the state parliament, one percentage point more in a weekly comparison.

The left, on the other hand, remains at 3 percent.

The other parties together come to 4.5 percent, 0.5 percentage points more than last.

Christian Baldauf as head of government would like 28 percent of those surveyed.

In the state elections in 2016, the SPD achieved 36.2 percent, the CDU 31.8 percent, the AfD 12.6 percent, the FDP 6.2 percent, the Greens 5.3 percent, the Left 2.8 percent and the others Parties together 5.0 percent.
