Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The CDU in the Stuttgart state parliament does not want to ask its MPs about potentially problematic holdings in mask stores.

All parliamentarians committed themselves “with dedication” in their constituencies and against the corona pandemic, the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” quoted (Friday) a spokesman for the parliamentary group.

So far, there has been no evidence that there could have been any misconduct.

According to the spokesman, an investigative circular and appeals would make little sense against this specific background.

However, he was open to examining the lobbying rules for possible specifics after the state elections.

In the Union's mask affair, the Union parliamentary group leader in the Bundestag, Ralph Brinkhaus (CDU), and CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt asked the 245 Union parliamentarians in the Bundestag to declare by Friday that they were not achieving any financial benefits in connection with the fight against the corona pandemic had - neither directly nor through companies.

The Union is under pressure to ensure more transparency because of the events surrounding the MPs Georg Nüßlein (previously CSU) and Nikolas Löbel (previously CDU), who have since left the parties.
