According to the latest study by the Japan Government Earthquake Investigation Committee, the probability of a 7.0-class earthquake occurring from the eastern coast of Aomori Prefecture, the northernmost part of Honshu, Japan to the coast of Iwate Prefecture, is 90% or more within the next 30 years. Delivered.

During the same period, there was an 80% probability of an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 to 8.5 off the coast of Hokkaido's Nemuro.

In addition, the probability of a 7-scale earthquake occurring in the sea off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture, off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture, and in the eastern sea of Miyazaki Prefecture is 70 to 90%.

It is expected to be particularly damaging when a huge earthquake occurs along the Nankai Trench that extends from the coast of Miyazaki Prefecture to the coast of Shizuoka Prefecture in the Pacific Ocean.
