The Israeli Aerospace Industries Company, "Israel Aerospace Industries", said today, Thursday, that it will cooperate with the UAE company Edge, which specializes in advanced technology in the defense sector, to develop an advanced defense system against drones.

The state-owned Israeli company, one of Israel's largest defense industries, said in a statement that the two companies would work to develop an advanced anti-drone system "specifically for the UAE market, providing several broad benefits to the Middle East, North Africa and beyond."

EDGE, which is tasked with supplying the UAE armed forces with advanced weapons, is focusing on developing drones, unmanned vehicles, smart weapons and electronic warfare tools in place of conventional weapons.

The UAE already has an advanced anti-ballistic air defense system, the American THAAD system.

The Yemeni Houthi movement has recently intensified drone attacks on Saudi Arabia, and it has previously threatened to launch similar attacks on the UAE.
