Mainz (dpa / lrs) - In the debate about the mask affair of members of the Bundestag of the Union, the top candidates of the Greens and the Left in Rhineland-Palatinate have spoken out in favor of a lobby register.

"Then you could show the citizens who has which additional income," said the left-wing politician Melanie Wery-Sims on Thursday evening in a SWR television debate on the state election.

In response to the objection from CDU top candidate Christian Baldauf that this already exists, the green top candidate Anne Spiegel said: “We don't have a lobby register in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The latest incidents have shown that this is long overdue. "

Baldauf condemned again when MPs collected commissions for arranging mask deliveries and spoke of "people who have no decency and do morally reprehensible things".

At the same time he turned to Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) and said: "You have one of the biggest corruption affairs in your own regional association with Markus Held."

The Rhineland-Hessian SPD member of the Bundestag has to answer for allegations of infidelity and fraud from May 4th in court.

"Make sure that Mr. Held also takes the consequences," said Baldauf.
