At the Guanyintang Primary School in Huashi Town, Yuzhou City, Henan Province, what students look forward to most is art, music and physical education classes once a week.

Although art classes lack painting materials, music classes do not have musical instruments, and physical education classes are confined to the venue and are taught by non-professional teachers, it does not affect students' love of these courses.

The predicament of Guanyintang Elementary School in developing art, music, physical education and other courses is the problem faced by many rural elementary schools: lack of professional teachers, shortage of hardware facilities, insufficient relevant courses, and "debt" problems in quality education.

This year, the National People’s Congress, deputy chairman of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and chairman of the Democratic National Construction Association Henan Provincial Committee Gong Liqun focused his attention on the above issues: “It is recommended to standardize the teaching of morality, physical education and beauty in rural primary schools to ensure the overall development of rural children.

At present, our country is striving to build an education system for comprehensive training of morality, intelligence, physical education, art and labor, and form a higher-level talent training system.

Gong Liqun said that in this regard, efforts should be made to promote the overall development of rural elementary school ethics and the rule of law, sports, music, and art teaching.

However, Gong Liqun found in his research that the overall situation of rural elementary school ethics and the rule of law, physical education, music, and art teaching is not ideal, and there is a large gap between the country's requirements for moral education, physical education, and aesthetic education.

“The number of full-time teachers of ethics, sports and beauty in rural primary schools is small, and part-time teachers lack professional quality, and the classroom teaching effect is poor, and the teaching evaluation of ethics, ethics and beauty is only a formality.'Pay attention to verbal and behave in action'.” Gong Liqun said, Such problems make it difficult to carry out relevant courses in rural schools.

Ma Yuxia, deputy to the National People’s Congress and vice president of Henan Open University, also has this concern: “Although 96.8% of county-level units across the country have achieved a basic balance of compulsory education, the current uneven and insufficient development of education in my country still exists, especially Problems such as the lack of outstanding teachers in rural schools, the backward basic teaching facilities, the lack of excellent teaching resources, and the low level of informatization teaching are still outstanding."

To solve the dilemma of “debts” in quality education in rural primary schools, Gong Liqun suggested increasing the number of teachers in rural primary schools, especially in moral education, physical education, music, and fine arts. The national training plan can be used to specialize primary school morality, physical education and beauty teacher training, and encourage concurrently serving in these three. Teachers of subject teaching obtain the second teacher qualification certificate.

Aiming at the shortage of aesthetic education teachers in rural schools, Ma Yuxia suggested to innovate the "Internet + aesthetic education" teaching model to solve the problem of aesthetic education.

"Achieve a network cable and a screen, so that high-quality educational resources can climb mountains and mountains, so that children in the countryside can also enjoy the comprehensive development of moral, intellectual, physical, and artistic."

She also said that it is necessary to encourage urban and rural paired assistance, establish urban and rural education groups or urban and rural school communities, clarify responsibilities, strengthen exchanges, and allow excellent teachers and high-quality educational resources to flow in a certain area.

"Playing the guiding role of evaluation forces rural primary schools to pay attention to ethics and the rule of law, physical education, and music teaching." Gong Liqun also suggested that the education department should rigidly require rural primary schools to open all courses in moral, physical, sound and beauty, and strengthen the process of teaching these courses. Evaluation, incorporating knowledge, skills, emotions, etc. into evaluation indicators, and establishing comprehensive quality evaluation files for rural primary school students.

"This move is conducive to ensuring the teaching effect." Gong Liqun said.

As an educator, Wang Bianbian, the principal of Guanyintang Primary School, is very aware of the importance of the German, physical, sound and beauty curriculum to the development of students.

"These courses are set up in the hope that students can cultivate their sentiments, discover beauty, and shape a more complete personality." She introduced that in addition to the normal German, physical, sound and beauty classes, the school also uses "Banbantong" to broadcast high-quality courseware and use the Internet. Collect resources for students to learn, and coordinate local non-genetic inheritors and fans of Henan opera to enter the campus.

At present, Wang Bianbian's greatest wish is that the school can have professional teachers of German, physical, music, and aesthetics, so as to live up to the students' love of these courses.

"Even if the personnel problem cannot be solved for the time being, can city schools pair up with us to train our teachers?" (End)
