A new vaccine soon on the European market.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended the use, Thursday, March 11, of the Janssen vaccine from Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

It is now the fourth authorized in the EU, after that of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca.

"With this latest positive opinion, the authorities of the European Union have an additional tool to fight against the pandemic and protect the life and health of their citizens", said the director of the EMA Emer Cooke, quoted in a statement, adding that it is the "first vaccine that can be used in a single dose".

Shortly after the green light from the EMA, the European Commission announced that it would shortly give its authorization for the use of this new vaccine in the EU.
