China News Service, March 11th. According to the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe, since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Zimbabwe, the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe has always been concerned about the health and safety of Chinese compatriots in Zimbabwe, taking various measures and actively supporting China in Zimbabwe. Enterprises and citizens are fighting the epidemic.

Recently, China and Zimbabwe have successfully launched vaccine cooperation, which has created more favorable conditions for the implementation of the "Spring Miao Action" in Tianjin.

The relevant progress is now notified as follows:

  1. Through active communication and coordination by the embassy, the two new coronary pneumonia vaccines developed and produced by Sinopharm Group and Kexing Company have obtained emergency use licenses issued by the National Food and Drug Administration of Tianjin, creating preconditions for Chinese compatriots to vaccinate Chinese vaccines in Tianjin.

  2. After several rounds of communication between the embassy and the President, the Vice President and the Ministry of Health, Zimbabwe confirmed that foreign citizens in Zimbabwe, including Chinese citizens, who have legal residence or work status in Zimbabwe, have been included in the Zimbabwe national vaccination plan. In accordance with the vaccination notices of the Zimbabwe government at various stages and the identity conditions of the individual, I went to the Zimbabwe government designated vaccination points in batches for vaccination.

According to the first phase vaccination notice of the Zimbabwe government, Chinese journalists and relevant medical workers in Zimbabwe have been successfully vaccinated in Zimbabwe as frontline workers without any special arrangements.

It is understood that Zimbabwe will release vaccination arrangements for other groups in stages. Chinese enterprises, associations and citizens in Zimbabwe should pay close attention to the relevant announcements of the Zimbabwe government, and actively organize or participate in the Zimbabwe government's vaccination plan.

  3. Considering that some Chinese citizens in Zimbabwe do not have the identity requirements to participate in the Zimbabwe national vaccination plan, or some Chinese citizens with identity conditions hope to receive the vaccine as soon as possible, the Zimbabwe embassy in Zimbabwe will actively communicate and coordinate with the Zimbabwe government, and Zimbabwe agrees to do so. Arrangements have been made to allocate a corresponding amount of vaccines at a cost from the vaccines recently purchased commercially from China for Chinese citizens in Zimbabwe who are willing to vaccinate.

The arrangement is led and supervised by the Zimbabwe government. It is a supplement to Zimbabwe's national vaccination plan and will provide Chinese citizens in Zimbabwe with another option for vaccination.

Chinese citizens in Zimbabwe can choose to participate in the Zimbabwe national vaccination plan or choose to participate in special vaccination arrangements for Chinese citizens according to their wishes.

At present, the above arrangements are being stepped up to implement, and relevant specific plans, operating methods, and precautions will be issued by the implementation agency designated by Zimbabwe.

The Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe will continue to closely follow up relevant developments and share them with overseas Chinese in a timely manner.
