Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - How do joint branches of Volksbank and Sparkasse work?
A good year after the opening of their first “Finanzpunkt”, Frankfurter Volksbank and Taunus Sparkasse take stock on Thursday.
The partners operate 26 branches together.
9 of these are self-service locations; in the 17 branches with staff, Volksbank and Sparkasse share the opening times.
The partners presented their concept in autumn 2019. On December 19, 2019, Germany's second largest Volksbank and the much smaller Taunus Sparkasse opened their first joint branch with a new design.
That banks from different camps work so closely together on such a large scale is a novelty.
The concept is a response to the fact that many bank customers hardly ever go to the branch.
The trend towards digital offers has intensified during the corona pandemic.
