Nearly half of the voters (48%) deem probable or even certain a victory of Marine Le Pen in the presidential election of 2022, perceived as the best able to embody an opposition to Emmanuel Macron, according to an Elabe poll for BFMTV published on Thursday.

If 36% of those questioned believe that none of the major parties is able to bring this opposition, 29% cite the RN and Marine Le Pen (+5 points in six months), ahead of La France insoumise and Jean-Luc Mélenchon (15%, -4 points), Les Républicains by Christian Jacob (7%, -1 point), EELV by Julien Bayou (4%, +1 point).

A total of 32% (+1) think it is "likely" that he will vote for an RN list in the regional elections in June, and 36% (+2) for Marine Le Pen in the presidential election.

Thus, 48% (+7) deem "certain or probable" a victory for Marine Le Pen in the second round of the 2022 ballot, against 52% (-7) "unlikely or impossible".

The poll confirms that the vote for the president of the RN is above all motivated by support for her ideas and the desire to express dissatisfaction.

58% (+5 points) say they "from time to time, on certain subjects", agree with her.

But 54% do not consider that she has "good ideas for France" and 59% do not agree that she is "capable of reforming France".

If she would do better according to respondents than the current Head of State on sovereign issues (immigration and security), she still does not manage to convince on crisis management, the economy, social, environment, and especially internationally, notes the institute.

The RN president is seen as "dynamic" (60%), "courageous" (58%) and wanting to "really change things" (58%), but the traits most widely associated with her are "authoritarian" ( 79%) and "arrogant" (65%), and 49% consider Emmanuel Macron to be "sympathetic", against 34% to Ms. Le Pen.

Survey carried out on March 9 and 10 among 1,008 people aged at least 18 years questioned by internet, according to the quota method.

Margin of error between 1.4 and 3.1 points.
