On Wednesday, the Yemeni National Army announced that it has made field progress in Taiz, while fighting continues in Marib. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that his country’s suspension of offensive weapons sales to Saudi Arabia was aimed at ending the war.

The National Army confirmed its complete control of the Al-Kadha area in Taiz, up to the outskirts of Al-Waziya district in the Lower Al-Mashawla area, which means breaking the siege imposed on the area 6 years ago.

The leadership of the Taiz Military Corridor said in a statement that the army is currently moving to retake the rest of the western countryside and the governorate directorates, confirming that the battles have resulted in the killing of dozens of Houthis and the families of others, in addition to the killing and wounding of members of the army.

In Marib, a Yemeni security source said that an explosion occurred in the center of the city due to the fall of a missile fired by the Houthis, while Saudi media reported that a Houthi air target of the "SAM 6" was destroyed.

On the other hand, the Media Center of the National Army said that fierce battles are taking place in the Sarwah district, west of the Ma'rib governorate.

On the other hand, Houthi media said that the Saudi-Emirati coalition aircraft launched 30 raids on sites in the Marib governorate, especially in Serwah.

On the other hand, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in his testimony before the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee that President Joe Biden's administration canceled the designation of the Houthis as a terrorist group in order to allow urgent humanitarian aid to arrive.

"We have suspended the sale of offensive weapons to Saudi Arabia, and we have appointed a special envoy to lead efforts to end the war in Yemen," Blinken added.
