Hamburg (dpa / lno) - In the Hamburg district of Eimsbüttel, three cars burned on Wednesday night - presumably after they had been set on fire.

First, a car was in flames that was parked on the side of the road, said a police spokesman.

A short time later, another car burned a few hundred meters away - so it is rather unlikely that it was a technical defect.

The police spokesman said that there was a search for possible perpetrators, but without success.

The fire brigade put out the three fires - the fire had spread from the first burning vehicle to a car parked next to it.

According to the police, the cars belong to private individuals and are not exceptional models.

There were also license plates from outside Hamburg.
