The balance of power continues in Senegal.

The protest movement behind Senegalese opponent Ousmane Sonko launched a new call for demonstrations on Saturday against President Macky Sall, after several days of unrest.

A call that is not addressed only to its supporters but to idle and angry youth.

Those under 20 represent more than half of the population and made up the vast majority of the demonstrators.

This is the case of Diamé Faye, a law student, who joined the protest movement to denounce the lack of jobs: “I have never found even an unpaid internship ... despite the fact that I continued my studies until a thesis.

Youth is abandoned ”.

Others did not demonstrate but share the frustration of opponents, such as Modou Niang, an apprentice in public transport: “I am angry because we are suffering.

A day's work allows me to live for barely two days, it's an eternal restart ”.

Monday evening, Macky Sall wanted to address young people on the theme of "living together" and offered a "helping hand".

"I understand your worries and concerns," he said, announcing an easing of the curfew, which severely affects those who work in the informal economy, and promising to redirect financial means towards the youth.
