The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas quoted an official source in the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, that thousands of poultry were executed in two farms in Al-Wafra, after it was confirmed that they were infected with the bird flu virus.

The source said that the livestock sector teams, as soon as the injuries were detected, isolated poultry on the two farms and culled thousands of them, to ensure that the disease did not spread to workers there or even to neighboring farms.

The source pointed out that "bird flu" is a viral disease caused by 12 types of viruses, and specifically targeting birds, noting that it may be transmitted to humans in very rare cases, and it can be avoided by staying away from the hotbeds of its spread.

The source explained that the virus does not transmit easily from infected animals to humans, but it may be transmitted in the event of severe contact with infected birds, indicating that the use of personal protection tools such as masks and gloves in case of dealing with animals in general greatly protects the human being.
