Weimar (dpa) - The creators of the globally acclaimed Yiddish Summer Weimar (YSW) festival want to use a new online service to network active people, especially those from the Yiddish music and cultural scene, worldwide.

At the same time, projects in connection with the festival and the associated Other Music Academy (OMA) in Weimar should receive a public platform, said the OMA director and artistic director of the YSW, Alan Bern.

Together with many musicians, he presented the new website on Wednesday.

“OMAworks” is the OMA's non-profit cultural agency, which is backed by an association.

Visitors to the platform get an insight into some of the previous projects that could be experienced at the YSW.

These include opera, cabaret, theater and dance pieces.

There are Yiddish song cycles and traditional Jewish klezmer music, often in conjunction with other influences.

Artists from the USA, Israel, France and other countries have already worked together.
