Gera / Altenburg (dpa / th) - After a delay due to an illness, a murder trial against two men who are said to have broken the cervical spine of their victim will start again this Wednesday at the Gera district court.

The two 19 and 23-year-old Germans from Altenburg are said to have broken into a man's apartment to give him a reminder after the later victim had previously offered them money for sexual activities.

The defendants allegedly attacked their victim with a knife, blows and kicks, so that his cervical spine broke and the man died of respiratory paralysis.

The younger of the two defendants is said to have acted with direct intent to kill, the older to have accepted the death of the victim approvingly.
