Halle (dpa / sa) - The Saxony-Anhalt Cultural Foundation wants to reopen its museums in two steps.

On March 16, the Letzlingen hunting lodge and the Ottonianum Cathedral Museum in Magdeburg are expected to receive visitors again, as the foundation announced in Halle on Wednesday.

On March 28th, the Moritzburg Halle Art Museum, the Michaelstein Monastery in Blankenburg, the Lyonel Feininger Gallery in Quedlinburg, Falkenstein Castle in the Harz Mountains as well as the Neuenburg and Goseck castles and the Halberstadt cathedral treasure will follow.

The foundation asked potential visitors to register using online ticketing.

Online booking for the Letzlingen Hunting Lodge and the Ottonianum Cathedral Museum should be possible from Friday.

For the museums that are due to open on March 28th, tickets can be purchased online from March 22nd.

An FFP2 mask must be worn in all museums, exhibitions and museum shops.

The museums in Saxony-Anhalt open their doors very differently.

The managing director of the museum association reported that the medium-sized museums tend to open quickly, the small and large ones need more advance notice.

While some have already opened, the big houses would need longer organizationally.

Therefore, visitors should find out more about the individual facilities in advance, if possible.
