In 1979, a nervous Ewa Blomqvist sat in the waiting room at Arlanda to receive her daughter from Chile.

Immediately when she held little Jenny in her arms, she felt that "this is my child".

- She was so incredibly cute.

A little round and lots of hair, like a little doll.

It was absolutely fantastic, says Ewa.

"They took me straight from BB"

Growing up, Jenny was convinced that her biological parents did not want to know about her - that was the information provided in the adoption papers.

It was not until 40 years later that the family learned the incredible truth, when Jenny was helped to find her mother in Chile.

The shock was total when they talked to each other for the first time via video call.

- She had been told that I was dead.

She was not allowed to see me or hold me.

They took me directly from BB, says Jenny.

In 2018, Chile launched a major investigation into thousands of suspected illegal adoptions.

Hundreds of children were taken to Sweden, which was noticed by SVT Väst.

Now the issue has once again come under the spotlight after a new review of Dagens Nyheter, which first wrote about Jenny Käppe's case.

Trusted that everything went right

When Ewa Blomqvist and her then husband carried out the adoption, they had been assured that everything had gone right.

Now, in retrospect, she is angry that the money, which would go to overheads, was in fact financing a child trafficking.

Above all, it's hard to think of what Jenny's biological mother must have been through.

- My happiness to become a mother was her grief, not to have a child.

It must have been very difficult for her.
