(Two Sessions Express) He Yicheng: The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has formed a benign interactive mechanism

China News Service, Beijing, March 9th (Reporter Chen Xiaoyuan) The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region He Yicheng said in Beijing recently that the cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are all leveraging their own advantages in industries. There is no overlapping development, no waste of resources or vicious competition, but rather formation. A benign interaction mechanism.

He Yicheng visited and visited various cities in the Greater Bay Area in the last two months.

In an exclusive interview with China News Agency "China Focus" in Beijing a few days ago, he pointed out that the plan for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is to allow the nine mainland cities, Hong Kong and Macau to give full play to their respective advantages in industries and avoid overlapping development of industries. He Yicheng pointed out that Macau is the smallest city in the Greater Bay Area and hopes to integrate with other cities and give full play to its own advantages.

He believes that key laboratories in universities in Macau can cooperate with Zhuhai or other cities in the Mainland.

Macau universities can set up new campuses in other cities. For example, the Macau Institute of Tourism can provide training for tourist trainees in the Greater Bay Area. This is to make use of Macau’s advantages and develop together with cities in the Greater Bay Area.

"One country, two systems" is an advantage in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but there are also concerns that Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao may face some challenges due to different rules.

In this regard, He Yicheng said that from the perspective of rules, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is mainly due to the different legal systems.

However, Macau is a statutory law, and so is the Mainland, so it is easier to operate on a practical level.

He said that now Macau lawyers have opened law firms in the Greater Bay Area (mainland cities), which has strengthened relevant contacts and deepened their understanding of the Mainland's legal system.

"I have worked for the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for five terms and also for the Macao Legislative Council for three terms. Therefore, I have full confidence that Macao can cooperate well with the Mainland in terms of the legal system."

He Yicheng also said that the development of Hengqin is a new opportunity for Macau, because Macau is a small area, and Hengqin has 106 square kilometers, so this is a new development space.

It is hoped that through sincere cooperation between the two parties, this space can be maximized.
