Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Greens and the FDP in the Lower Saxony state parliament have criticized the government draft for a new daycare law as inadequate and called for a third force for kindergarten groups.

"The government has not provided any quality improvement in its draft law," said Green Party leader Julia Willie Hamburg on Wednesday in Hanover.

"Obviously, she lacks the money for urgently needed improvements."

This is not the first time that the government is saving at the expense of the youngest.

"The law urgently needs to be improved by the state parliament in the coming weeks."

In a five-point plan, the Greens are calling for the state to make significantly greater efforts to ensure good day-care centers.

It is about better training and working conditions, higher pay, more staff and, in particular, the third force not only for crèches, but also for kindergartens.

Daycare centers and primary schools should also become family centers with supportive offers for families.

The shortage of skilled workers in daycare centers must be countered with a training offensive.

The third force in daycare centers, which has long been required, is rejected by the municipalities, for example with reference to the already existing shortage of educators.

The state government is not trying to improve the quality of education for the children and better working conditions in the daycare centers, the FDP education expert in the state parliament, Björn Försterling, had criticized the day before.

There must be a plan for the third person in kindergarten as well as reliable training remuneration without attempting to artificially spruce up the skilled worker-child key with trainees.

"Children, day-care center staff and parents wanted a new law for more quality education, the state government has presented a new law for a formal hook in the coalition agreement."
