Inspired by Helsingborgshem's social housing, Arnold Andreasson, chairman of the Center Party, has proposed that the elderly housing Ybbåsen be transformed into a social housing.
- We think it would be interesting to have a community home for the elderly and younger and to this premises where you can socialize.
It can be an art studio, a tavern, a dining room and hobby rooms of various kinds, he says.
Old-fashioned apartments
The property, which was built in the late 1960s, does not live up to the work environment requirements and must therefore be closed.
One of the big problems is that the bathrooms are far too small.
In a few months, the current tenants will move to the municipality's other senior housing - Österbo - which needs to be expanded.
In addition, the municipal board will make a decision to start an investigation that will go to the bottom with Ybbåsen's future.
"A very interesting proposal"
Transforming the nursing home into a social housing is one of the proposals that will be examined in more detail, according to municipal councilor Torgny Lindau (Perstorp's future).
- This is a very interesting proposal.
I believe in finding contact points across generational boundaries.
It counteracts involuntary loneliness, says Torgny Lindau.
