When the vaccine reached the Ivory Coast, the city of Abidjan quickly changed.

In 48 hours, the local football arena was transformed into a huge vaccination center.

After a slow start, vaccines are now being delivered to countries across Africa.

According to the WHO, 70 percent of the world's population must be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity, but millions of doses are still missing on the continent.

Ivory Coast is also facing another challenge in the widespread prejudices that are spreading in the country.

Some believe that the state has a secret agenda with the vaccine, such as changing people's DNA, or making them infertile.

Healthcare is now putting a lot of effort into informing the population about the vaccine's actual effects.

- We communicate in print media, in radio and television, on the web.

We inform about the importance of getting vaccinated and that it is a global disease, says chief physician Adele Telly Dahionlon.
