"The license previously issued to Mr. Gertler is incompatible with America's foreign policy interests in the fight against corruption around the world, in particular, including US efforts to combat corruption and promote stability in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)," department of Ned Price.
Gertler was listed on the US sanctions list in 2017.
The sanctions block Gertler's access to any assets he owns in the United States and prohibits American individuals from participating in transactions with him.
