Erfurt (dpa / th) - Jan Siegemund wants to compete against Thuringia's FDP Deputy Chief Gerald Ullrich when drawing up the FDP state list for the federal election.

He was running for first place on the list, Siegemund announced on Tuesday.

Ullrich, who is currently sitting for the Liberals in the Bundestag, also wants to be on the list.

He is one of three deputy Thuringian FDP chairmen.

The Thuringian FDP list for the federal election is to be drawn up on May 2nd at a state party conference.

Siegemund studied political science and business administration at the universities in Erfurt and Jena and now lives in Erfurt, where he works as a research assistant at the university's political science faculty.

In the Thuringian FDP he is an assessor in the state board.
