Berlin (dpa / bb) - Berlin parent representatives continue to see difficulties in digital teaching for school children at home.

«What schools can do is face-to-face teaching.

There will be few problems, ”said the state parent committee chairman Norman Heise on Tuesday of the German press agency.

From Tuesday, the Berlin schools will be open again for grades 1 to 6.

However, there are lessons in divided study groups and alternately at school and, for example, with the help of the laptop at home.

In addition, there is no compulsory attendance.

Parents can choose not to send their children to school.

"Teachers can only do one thing: they can either teach face-to-face or accompany distance teaching, both of which are not possible," said Heise.

"Of course, that has disadvantages for the children who stay at home."

The most frequently asked question from parents at the moment is how things are going with the 7th to 9th grades, said Heise.

For them, the education administration has not yet given a date when they are basically allowed to go back to schools and receive alternating lessons.

Many parents wish that this would happen before Easter.

It would be difficult if schools did not have the necessary technical equipment to be able to offer video lessons, said the parent's spokesman.
