Eksjö District Court decided on Friday to detain the 22-year-old man suspected of seven knife attacks in central Vetlanda two days earlier.

But more than an initial interrogation has not been held with him yet.

The police investigation work is still in full swing.

Priority has been given to other measures than further interrogations with the man and, among other things, they have started talking to the victims.

"The police have been in contact with all the plaintiffs and formal interrogations have been held with most of them," confirms Adam Rullman.

In other respects, the investigation continues with the usual measures, especially continued interrogations.

Technical investigations will also be carried out on seized objects.

Forensic psychiatric examination

The court decided that the man should undergo a so-called small forensic psychiatric examination.

It has not yet started.

- It usually happens within a couple of weeks, says Christian Berntö, the suspect's lawyer.

Otherwise, he does not want to comment on the contacts he had with his client

A small forensic psychiatric examination usually takes one day to carry out and forms the basis for an assessment of whether there is a need for a major forensic psychiatric investigation.

Four have left the hospitals

The region confirmed earlier this week that another of the seven injured could leave the hospital over the weekend and that three of the victims remained in care.

No further information about the injured will then be provided.

- We are down on patient confidentiality if we tell more, says Anna Holm at the region's press department.
