Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's new Minister of Health Daniela Behrens wants to continue to link opening steps in the pandemic to the incidence value.

The SPD politician said on Tuesday in Hanover that it is a well-measurable value that reflects the infection process at the regional level.

"I know that some municipalities are disappointed," admitted the minister.

However, the infection rate must be further contained in the high-incidence municipalities.

Where more than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants are counted within a week, the previous restrictions remain.

On Tuesday there were six municipalities across the country, including the Hanover region.

This regulation had triggered sharp criticism from the Lower Saxony City Council and the Lower Saxony Trade Association.

There is no plan for parents of daycare children or the retail trade, it said.
