Traunstein (dpa / lby) - It began as an Internet acquaintance - and, according to the prosecution, resulted in a murder: A 61-year-old man has had to answer to the Traunstein district court since Tuesday because he killed his new acquaintance out of greed a year ago should.

The 59-year-old woman from Bergen disappeared without a trace in January 2020.

In March 2020, after extensive investigations, the “Manuela Special Commission” arrested a German national residing in Upper Austria on suspicion of a crime.

The man initially refused to have anything to do with the crime.

The next day, however, he led the investigators to the hiding place of the body in the forest.

The autopsy confirmed that the woman had been a victim of a violent crime.

According to the prosecution's allegations, the two met in December 2019.

When he ran into financial hardship in January 2020, he is said to have decided to kill the wealthy woman in order to get her money.

For the process, nine days of negotiations are initially scheduled until March 26th.
