Several thousand people, mostly women, marched in France on Monday to demand more gender equality, on the occasion of International Women's Day.

In Paris, the demonstrators were 3,600 to 30,000, according to the police and the organizers, behind a banner proclaiming "First of chores on feminist strike".

The collective of 37 organizing trade union, feminist and political movements called for demonstrations to "put an end to gender-based and sexual discrimination and violence" and to "refuse (...) to pay the price of the crisis with our work, our wages. , our body ".

Departing from Port-Royal under a cold sun, towards the Place de la République, the Parisian procession punctuated by dances and songs marked several symbolic stops, including one in front of the Sorbonne where testimonies of students were read.

A look back at the event with the images taken by four women photographers working for the Sipa Press agency: Céline Brégand, Louise M Interest, Jeanne Accorsini and Isa Harsin.
