Kiel (dpa / lno) - Tens of thousands more people in Schleswig-Holstein have received corona vaccination appointments.

From Tuesday afternoon, people between the ages of 70 and 79, those working in daycare centers and primary schools as well as the chronically ill could register for vaccinations with the Astrazeneca vaccine.

According to the Ministry of Health, bookings were possible via the state's vaccination portal (www.impfen-sh.de).

The group also includes people with trisomy 21, after an organ transplant, with dementia, intellectual disabilities or with severe psychiatric illness.

Up to two close contacts of people in need of care or pregnant people as well as various professional groups that are exposed to an increased risk of infection can also be vaccinated.

These include, for example, soldiers deployed abroad and employees in the health service as well as police officers who are deployed in demonstrations.

According to an initial assessment by the Ministry of Health in the evening, around 60,000 people entitled to vaccinations booked around 120,000 appointments within an hour.

At times a queue was switched.

According to earlier information from the ministry, there are expected to be around 200,000 vaccine appointments for Astrazeneca's vaccine in the north in March and April.

The majority of these should be first vaccinations.

The North German forms can be downloaded and printed out for the necessary evidence.

A confirmation from the family doctor or the employer is required, for example.

Second vaccinations with Astrazeneca should start on April 17th.
