Lübeck (dpa / lno) - A 29-year-old man has to answer for the murder of his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend in Lübeck from Tuesday.

He is said to have secretly sneaked into the former shared apartment in September 2020 and attacked the young woman there with a knife.

The defendant is said to have threatened the woman's new friend, who was also present, with a knife and expelled him from the apartment.

After the crime, the defendant is said to have left his victim seriously injured in the apartment, where she died shortly afterwards.

The public prosecutor's office suspects excessive hatred as the motive.

The 29-year-old apparently did not want to allow his former partner, with whom he had two children, to live with a new partner, according to a statement from the public prosecutor.
