Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Business representatives have offered companies in Saxony-Anhalt to vaccinate their employees against the corona virus themselves in a timely manner.
The companies are ready to take on this responsibility, said the President of the State Employers' Association (AWSA), Klemens Gutmann, on Tuesday according to the announcement.
A number of companies have years of experience with vaccinating their workforce against flu, for example.
They are close to the employees and can react quickly, says Gutmann.
The offer is not without self-interest: The economic situation of many companies is alarming due to the corona pandemic, Gutmann said.
"The new vaccines open up the opportunity to contain the dangers and gradually return to normal everyday life."
It is unclear when the company doctors can actually administer the corona protection.
Nevertheless, the regional association submitted the corresponding offer to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU).
In Saxony-Anhalt, vaccinations are currently mainly carried out in the districts' 14 vaccination centers and by mobile teams in care facilities.
Several municipalities are now also offering individual vaccination opportunities in smaller towns, in order to save the elderly, in particular, long journeys.
The country recently announced that it would add individual specialist practices to the vaccination network.
From April onwards, general practitioners will also be administering the active ingredients on a larger scale.
