Berlin (dpa / bb) - In a cellar fire in an eight-story residential building in Berlin-Altglienicke, a 20-year-old and a 73-year-old man were brought to safety by the rescue workers.

The man was taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation, the police said.

The fire in Siriusstrasse broke out in a cellar shed in the house on Tuesday morning for as yet unknown cause.

The fire had allowed smoke to enter the stairwell.

The fire brigade was on duty with 26 rescue workers.
