Nordhausen (dpa / th) - In Sondershausen in the Kyffhäuserkreis district, several cars and rubbish bins, some of them completely, burned down early Tuesday morning.
As a police spokeswoman announced, initially two garbage cans were on fire.
A few minutes later, according to the police, four cars burned.
Another smoldering garbage can was reported early in the morning.
The police have started a large-scale operation and are currently investigating in all directions.
The fire sites distributed throughout the city are cordoned off to secure evidence.
The amount of damage cannot yet be estimated.
