Berlin (dpa / bb) - Two alleged book thieves have to answer before a Berlin district court today (12.30 p.m.).

The defendants, a 34-year-old and a 32-year-old woman, are said to have either stolen books with a total value of almost 10,000 euros from various public libraries themselves or acquired them from third parties knowing where they came from.

The aim was to sell the stolen goods to buyers in good faith on the Internet.

The charges are of commercial theft or commercial stolen goods and commercial fraud.

The trial at the Berlin-Tiergarten District Court involves 35 offenses between 2013 and 2018.
