Luis Bárcenas has resumed his statement on Tuesday in the trial for box B of the Popular Party.

He has asked questions from his defense, who on several occasions have sought to highlight that Mariano Rajoy received a black bonus from the party and that he wanted to destroy the documents that accredited him.

"Those amounts that appear received by Mariano Rajoy during a period ranging from 1996 or 1997 to 2008 are absolutely true," said the former treasurer of the party after the mention of his lawyer that in the parallel accounting papers there are "42 notes" referring to the former president of the party and the Government.

"It cannot be that the amounts received by Mariano Rajoy are not true but the misappropriation of [Álvaro] Lapuerta is. Either it is worth everything or it is worth nothing," added Bárcenas.

With these references, the defense sought to erase doubts about the authenticity of an annotation on payments to Rajoy that on Monday Bárcenas acknowledged having prepared

ad hoc

.

The payment it reflected, he said, was true, although he did it transferred to a sheet that did not correspond.

Rajoy has starred in today's statement by Bárcenas.

Again at the request of his lawyer, Gustavo Galán, has given details of an audio recording that he allegedly made of Rajoy that would have been stolen by the police investigated in the

Kitchen operation

and that reflected the "knowledge" of the former president of the police of Box B and his concern that the evidence would come to light.

"Mariano Rajoy intervenes in an audio, I go up to his office I give him the remaining amount [of box B] and I show him the last two sheets so that he could see how we were handling the issue. Scared, he tells me how can I have those papers. A then Rajoy turns around in his chair and destroys those two documents in the shredder behind him, which were photocopies. "

Without mentioning it this time expressly, the former treasurer includes Rajoy on the list of people whose actions on box B he considers "cowardly" and "morally reprehensible" for not "showing his face" despite the fact that they no longer risk any criminal prosecution nor can they pay political responsibilities.

"On this issue, the only thing annoying for me has been the cowardice of a series of people who are not willing as others are doing to admit that we have made mistakes, that we have made mistakes, that we have financed ourselves irregularly and that we knew what we were doing ".

Bárcenas has denied that he is acting out of "any animosity" to the party and has repeatedly insisted that the actions he denounces are from the old PP, "not that of [Pablo] Casado"
