Cologne (dpa) - For three months the exhibition was hidden from view due to Corona, but this Tuesday (10:00 a.m.) the Museum Ludwig in Cologne is finally opening its large Andy Warhol exhibition.

It is the most important and costly exhibition the museum has shown in years.

It was originally supposed to start on December 12th.

Due to the delayed opening, it will now be extended until June 13th.

This was difficult to do as the exhibition then moves to Toronto, Canada and Aspen, Colorado.

When advance sales for the exhibition were activated on Saturday after the forced Corona break, the museum's server collapsed due to the great demand.

When the website was later available again, the first week - no further time slots can be booked - was sold out within a very short time.

The exhibition "Andy Warhol Now" was developed by the Museum Ludwig together with the Tate Modern in London.

With over 100 works, she paints a partially new picture of the most important Pop Art artist.

The focus is on his homosexuality, his migration background and his religiosity.

In addition, it becomes clear how strong Warhol (1928-1987) was already a multimedia artist who interviewed known and unknown Americans for print and television formats, for example.
