The Kyodo News Agency reported that the Japanese government has decided not to accept foreign general audiences for the Tokyo Olympics scheduled to be held in July this year.

The news agency said that this policy will be finalized at a meeting next week with officials from the Japanese government, the Organizing Committee of the Games, and the International Olympic Committee.

Once the decision is made official, a refund process for Olympic tickets sold overseas will be underway.

The audience is limited to residents in Japan, and the size of the audience will also be determined within the next month in accordance with the Japanese government's COVID-19 measures.
