Mutterstadt (dpa / lrs) - A suspected arsonist has been arrested in Mutterstadt (Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis).
As the Frankenthal public prosecutor and the police jointly announced on Monday, the man is suspected of having set fire to the container of an asylum accommodation in which he lived.
The man was brought before the investigating judge on Saturday, who issued an arrest warrant.
The 30-year-old has been in custody since then.
The fire broke out on Friday afternoon.
Nobody got hurt.
The living container has been uninhabitable since then, and according to the announcement, property damage totaled 50,000 euros.
