Rostock (dpa / mv) - Because of a smoldering fire, a railcar had to stop on the railway line between Rostock and Ticino (Rostock district) on Monday.

As the Federal Police reported, the driver noticed the smoke in the driver's cab around 10 a.m. and stopped the train around 500 meters from the Groß Lüsewitz stop.

The 25 to 30 travelers got off the train and walked to the stop.

A bus service had been set up there.

After a good two hours, the train was able to drive to Rostock main station on its own.

The cause of the smoke development was apparently a technical defect.
