While unhooking the mirror in her bathroom, a young New York resident saw a hole leading… to an abandoned apartment.
His discovery and “expedition” in the mysterious accommodation are the subject of several videos on TikTok.
The young woman has indeed posted her adventure, called
A New York City Mystery
, in four parts on the social network.
His videos have been wildly successful, attracting the attention of local media like

A derelict apartment on the other side of the wall
In the first video published on March 4, the New Yorker explains having made the strange discovery while looking for the source of a cold draft in her bathroom.
“Let me show you what I found,” she says, sparing some suspense.
In the second TikTok video, we see her removing the bathroom mirror and revealing a gaping hole in the wall.
“There is a room behind,” reveals the young woman.
“I have to get in there.
Helped by her roommates and equipped with a mask, a hammer and a headlamp, the American finally managed to gain access to the mysterious apartment.
“You're on the other side of the dimension,” laughs one of his friends.
Partly furnished, the accommodation is partly dilapidated.
Back after her expedition, the young woman said she was "delighted to be safe and sound."
The young woman decided to cement the wall to plug the hole while waiting for work to be undertaken.
She also informed her owner of her discovery, who had no doubt already been able to enjoy her TikTok videos.
