Lars Rydstedt, internal commander at the rescue service Medelpad, says that staff at the company alerted SOS after the bottle, which is intended for vehicle gas, went into the part of the recycling machine called the "chew".
Because you do not know if there is gas in the bottle, if it leaks or what would happen if you start the machine again, everything is stationary.
The rescue service has evacuated and cordoned off the area.
Contact has been made with MSB's chemical experts for advice on the matter.
Police may be called to simply shoot the gas tank.
